THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE & THE BEYOND:

A LOOK INTO THE FUTURE OF THE SERIES

by Elizabeth Hazel, Astrologer

Continued...

June 10: Deaths or disruptions outside of Hogwarts send shockwaves through the school, and disrupt studies or course schedules. Harry gets more information about the past, but discovers that the assets from his legacies can become liabilities. He struggles to come to terms with the opposing forces within him: what he knows and can do: what he inherited from his parents; and what he gained from Voldemort. Harry is unable to escape the past and is on a collision course with the future. (Jupiter T retrograde station square Uranus N; Jupiter T conjunct South Node N)

June 19: There are questions about where Harry will go for the summer, as the safety of Privet Drive is in doubt (or may have been permanently eliminated as a safe haven). Hermione may reveal yet more secrets about herself, especially if she is forced to show her hand because of an assault on her. The players on both sides are locked into positions for a coming battle. Harry has to make a commitment to studies, but may be troubled by some aging process or deteriorating health; or something from an elderly person (grandparents? Dumbledore?) that changes and places obstacles his path. (Pluto T retrogrades trine Harry’s Moon N and sextile Hermione’s Ascendant; North Node T conjunct Harry’s Saturn N and Hermione’s Sun and Jupiter N)

June 20 - 27: As June ends, Harry is once again in a furious battle with the enemy. A confrontation with Voldemort or his Death Eaters explodes as a secret plan comes to fruition. It is likely that Harry will be lured to some location or action by a woman who has been manipulated by the enemy or planted as a lure by the enemy; the enemy will use his big heart or his tender emotions against him in order to make him vulnerable to attack. His capacity to love others is used against him. Ron may come up missing, or be taken out of the action to deprive Harry of support. He will recover. The new Minister of Magic may be eliminated, either through political machinations or death. (Full Moon at 29 Sagittarius on June 20 square Saturn N; Venus T opposition Neptune T square Ron’s Venus N; Mars T conjunct Descendant; Mercury T square Mars N. Saturn T exactly opposite Pluto N on June 22)

June 30, 1997: This is the date that the first book of the HP series was released, but also the end of Harry’s sixth year at Hogwarts. Harry’s battle with Voldemort and/or the Death Eaters will have difficult political consequences, and the wizard world will be divided in their reactions. Key to this division will be the methods of resolution: to adjust legislation to promote equality and fairness toward non-wizards, to make non-compliance with these rules more severely punishable; or to remain in the status quo and merely attempt to eliminate Voldemort as the chief instigator of problems. This book will end in controversy that involves the entire wizard world, not merely the students and situation at Hogwarts. Safety and security are highly desirable, but will probably not be obtained without uncomfortable adjustments and progressive policies that many will not agree with. Hermione’s role as a political agitator and commentator will become pronounced; overall, Hermione may be the character in the story line with the most extreme changes during the second half of the sixth year of school.

Beyond: Book 7 (July 1997 – 1998)

Without the sixth book in hand, it is difficult to make predictions for Harry’s final year at school. New characters and locations may enter into the story line; and the past history that will certainly be given in the sixth book will give many clues to the final outcome in the seventh book. Nevertheless, the planets do give a very definite picture of the kinds of activities that will occur in this time period. I may make corrections or additions to these predictions after the release of the sixth book.

By way of a heads-up warning to readers, the ending (which will surely come) may not take place in the time frame that repeats the pattern set in the previous books. The planetary picture just does not indicate a confrontation in late June 1998, the end of the seventh school year. Through the first five books, Rowling’s story telling has closely mirrored planetary aspects to Harry’s chart, so it is unlikely that she will stray far from this astrological synchronicity. Harry will probably have some time, possibly months, after graduation to prepare for his final battle with Voldemort.

July: Harry travels away from Hogwarts, but may be compelled to keep changing locations as open threats to him continue. If Privet Drive is still available as a haven, it is likely to be completely spoiled this month. It is necessary for his actions to be unpredictable or unexpected (Mercury in 4th house Cancer conjuncts Mercury N; Jupiter T retrograde square Uranus N). Harry’s feelings escalate to full rage at Voldemort, as the events of June provoke a deep and personal hatred for him. He is sick and tired of the assaults and losses, personal injuries and the danger to his friends and their families. Harry is geared and primed to get his revenge, as his hate is hot and his determination is fixed. (Saturn T opposite Pluto).

July 14: An attack on Harry’s location, or confrontation with one of his relatives. He may choose to initiate a plan of his own, or begin to consider a plan of attack. Harry seeks out more hidden information, unusual spells, special forms of attack or defense, or means of increasing his power. This may be available through his own development, or become accessible through his associates and allies. It is quite important for him to channel his anger in a proactive manner. He must break the boundaries of his inherited destiny in order to achieve his freedom. The various pieces and parts of his inheritance (genetic, historic, material, and social) must be assessed for their contribution to success or their potential vulnerabilities. Knowledge of Voldemort’s past expands and gives key clues to his vulnerabilities. Harry may once again travel into the past, or become involved in a special program of study. (Mars T conjunct Mars N; North Node T square Neptune N; Saturn T trine Neptune N; Jupiter T conjunct South Node N)

July 31: Harry’s 17th birthday. His friends are with him. Past events are reviewed and scrutinized; goals to be achieved are planned. Forces for good are united with solid leadership; the Weasley family is central to this stabilizing effort. More secrets about his parent’s friends are revealed (Saturn T retrograde station opposite Pluto N and square Mercury N; Saturn T trine North Node N; Venus and Mercury T in Virgo)

August: Harry dives into intense studies. He is cloistered in order to develop his mental skills. This is a bit of a breather for him before school resumes. (Mars T completes transit of Libra and into Scorpio; Mercury and Venus T in Virgo; Mercury T retrograde on Aug 17 at 16 Virgo in Harry’s 6th house, making multiple transits of Harry’s Jupiter N)

August 22: Final separations from relatives; angry words and accusations. Harry must exercise rigid control over his temper and his secret information. (Saturn T retrograde square Mercury N)

September: This is the beginning of the final school year at Hogwarts.

September 1: Attack on the train to Hogwarts, or consequences to Harry because of his girlfriend of the previous year. His emotions are intense and his fury surges. Ron may also run into trouble of an emotional nature, with clashes surrounding his mother or sister. In the history of the real world, Princess Diana dies in a car accident in Paris (Solar Eclipse at 9 Virgo conjunct Harry’s Jupiter N and Ron’s Moon N; Venus T conjunct Pluto N; Mars T square Sun N; Saturn T continues to retrograde opposite Pluto N)

September 7: Harry gains strength from his mother, or from his mother’s blood. His mental abilities and clairvoyant capacities are noticeably stronger. He is verging on mastery of important skills, which may include transformation/transfiguration. (Pluto T trine Moon N)

September 10: More troubles continue to surface for Ron and/or the Weasley family. There may be a clarification of Percy’s role in the ministry, or some other changes in the status of his father or siblings (Mercury T direct station conjunct Ron’s Mars N)

September 16: Surprises are in store in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class. There will be an especially aggressive instructor who requires strenuous effort in participation. Hermione reveals new skills or abilities mid-month which may concern transfiguration, invisibility, or animagi capacities. Harry’s emotions continue to simmer, as there may be more restrictions placed on his activities because of required responsibilities. Dumbledore may be much less available, or temporarily absent from the school. Ginny Weasley may also have an important role in events at this time. (Mars T conjunct Uranus N; Mercury T conjunct Ron’s Moon N; Lunar Eclipse at 23 Pisces aspects Ron’s Mercury N and Saturn N, Harry’s Saturn N, and Hermione’s Jupiter/Sun N).

October: This month brings sporting events and other action-oriented activities. Spells include transfiguration, transportation, flying, animal magic, and alternate forms of communication. Any attacks in the early part of the month are likely to be verbal – mockery or taunting, from Draco or newspaper articles. Harry’s relationships with his friends are strengthened; he may find a new friend or love interest; also indicates extensive communications with people at a distance (Mars and Venus T in Sagittarius; Mercury T in Libra)

October 8: Hermione’s personal relationships extend beyond the boundaries of Hogwarts. This may focus on Krum, or may involve some other foreign or distant individual. Her personal appearance may change yet again, with the promise of great beauty or captivating appeal. (Jupiter T opposite her Venus N).

October 9 – 14: Political events are important mid-month. A new Minister of Magic may be appointed (or elected); other parts of the government are reorganized as necessary following the events of the sixth book. Hermione’s predictions in this respect will be very accurate; she may have ties or connections to individuals moving into powerful positions. Her activism gets results in a surprising way. (Neptune T direct station, Uranus T direct station conjunct Hermione’s Ascendant)

October 22: Harry may experience an assault on his mind, another head injury, or interrupted sleep. Emotions run high from travel or sporting victories. Harry has magical break-throughs – transfiguration/animagi a good possibility. A concealed aspect of his inner self can be revealed. (Full Moon at 22 Aries opposite Pluto N and square Mercury N, trine North Node N)

October 27: Continues trend from previous entry; Harry excels in controlling his voice, appearance; or some demonstration of applied power. He benefits through close relationships to his friends, as well as relationships with powerful adult wizards. The DADA teacher will be particularly influential. (Venus T conjunct Mars T at 20 Sagittarius trine North Node N, sextile Pluto N, conjunct Neptune N)

November: Political alliances between different groups (wizards, muggles, creatures) establish a good new foundation for progress. Harry has direct ties to people in power, especially through Ron’s family, who are bound for good fortune this month. (Venus T and Mars T enter Capricorn – Harry’s 10th house and trine Ron’s Mars/Jupiter/Moon N)

There is a continual directive to create mental barriers, control weaknesses, minimize the possibility of infiltration, and maximize advantages for Harry this month. He may be abused in a back-handed way, although this may also manifest as more definitive information about Professor Snape and his role in the story line. More information about Lily Potter or her family is given. (Saturn T retrogrades in Aries opposite Harry’s Jupiter/Uranus and Mars/Pluto midpoints)

December 4: Challenges for leadership are made; also, Harry may have conflict with Draco. Harry responds to events and issues around Grimmauld Place. Peter Pettigrew may give away secrets. (Mars T square Pluto and Mercury N)

December 14-21: Adjustments and movement of Weasley family members. Positive momentum from the autumn falters; political initiatives are slowed or subjected to complications. Harry reconsiders issues around his love life, and may have choices between different partners. (Mercury T retrograde in Ron’s 7th house to square IC; Full Moon at 22 Gemini square Ron’s Mercury N; Full Moon conjunct Harry’s Venus N)

December 15: Harry has changes of relationship with men in authority positions; he makes new commitments, takes on adult responsibilities, and actually may discourage his friends from acting before the time is right (Saturn T direct station opposite Harry’s Mars N)

December 22-27: Christmas break. Planned journeys may have to be delayed, or destinations revised. Hermione is in a make-it-or-break-it confrontation in her relationships, or may find her interests cause vulnerabilities for others (Venus T conjunct Mars T; Venus T retrogrades in Aquarius conjunct Hermione’s Ascendant). Harry returns to Potter family home, a house he has inherited. Less likely but worth mentioning: he travels back to distant or overseas location for additional training and planning (Jupiter T conjunct S. Node N)

January 1998. This month starts the final school term for Harry and his friends at Hogwarts. There is great pressure on teachers and authority figures because of the political situation, risks of assault, and extremely difficult tests and challenges for the students. Hermione may have her own journeys to make as the year begins, possibly overseas. (Venus T retrogrades in Capricorn; Saturn T in Aries opposes Harry’s Mars and Hermione’s Mercury N; Jupiter T opposite Hermione’s Uranus N)

January 11: Harry is brought into contact with his final teacher/mentor. While this might be resumption with a teacher/mentor previously introduced, there may be an important new figure that is introduced at this time. There is a strong feeling of fatedness in this encounter, lessons that must be learned or skills/tools that must be mastered in order to fulfill his destiny.

(North Node T conjunct Jupiter N – aspect continues for about 2 weeks)

January 12: Harry and his friends return to Hogwarts around this date; there are emotional reunions and separations. Harry’s deep rage at Voldemort resurfaces, spurs his intense commitment to kill the evil wizard. The question: How can Voldemort be killed? may be more full explored as the students return to the school. (Full Moon at 22 Cancer conjunct Mercury N).

January 15: Harry moves with more confidence into a new relationship as this month ends, as his understanding of girls is much better now. He is positioned for fortunate meetings and improving relationships. Harry gains more skills in using his voice or transfiguring himself or other objects. (Jupiter T trine Venus N). More events take place in the Weasley family; Percy’s deceptions could be exposed; health and wellness issues are evident (Jupiter T opposition Ron’s Uranus).

January 21-22: Newspaper articles reveal difficulties in the ministry; there may also be problems with new or very young students (Mercury T square Mars N)

January 28: Harry makes breakthroughs in his studies, but unusual things will be happening to him, or around him. This is a particularly intense period, with enormous potential for Harry’s full powers to be revealed. However, there are great threats around his friends and the people and creatures he cares about. Hermione and Ron may be subject to attack, also Dobby or other non-wizard creature. (Uranus T opposite Sun N; Saturn T opposite Harry’s natal midpoint cluster at 15 Libra)

Late January – Early February: A female fugitive (possibly Bellatrix LeStrange) is captured, or things she has done are brought to light. Older women in the story line reveal personal secrets, or special talents that no one is aware of yet. Harry may discover that he is related by blood or marriage to unusual people. (Venus T retrograde slows, makes direct station at 18 Capricorn opposite Mercury N and square Pluto N). Ron’s brothers may be extremely active at this time, or Ron may be much more active in his classes and sports. (Mars T opposite Ron’s Mars/Jupiter/Moon N)

The seventh-year students are now preparing for their NEWTs, and are expected to work at the highest levels. New magical tests are given, but new tools, potions, or other magical items may be introduced as January ends or February begins. The students begin to magically manipulate raw elements. There may also be adult organizations or other formal registration processes required as the students prepare to take their place in the adult wizard world. Some career contacts may be made, or students may be encouraged to apply for jobs (Neptune T enters Aquarius; conjunct Series chart Pallas N)

February 11: Harry begins to form a plan for trapping Voldemort, or compelling him to meet Harry in a particular location. A brilliant nugget of information is acquired; the Marauder’s Map may yield more information, or a legal precedent is discovered. Of course, Hermione interprets the implications of the discovery. A means to entrap or manipulate Voldemort is found; it may be possible to use one of his servants against him (Full Moon at 22 Leo conjunct North Node N and square Uranus N; Mercury T in Aquarius).

February 16 – 25: Ron may have an unfortunate loss or encounter; his family is under assault or being harshly criticized. It is possible that his father’s actions are misinterpreted; or that other wizards are working to undermine him or take advantage of any misstep. (Jupiter T in Pisces opposite Ron’s Mars and Jupiter N; Mars T forms a t-square with Ron’s Saturn/Neptune N: the movement of Jupiter into Pisces is worse for Ron and Hermione than for Harry)

February 26: Molly Weasley has extreme emotion upheaval or losses. Ron is in shock or terribly uncomfortable with the flow of events. Harry’s teacher/mentor may be temporarily absent and unavailable when assistance is needed. (Total Solar Eclipse at 7 Pisces – please note that this eclipse is almost conjunct Ron’s Sun N; opposite Harry’s Jupiter N. While Ron may have some losses at this time, any further activation of this point by other planets poses serious danger for him)

March 5-7: Surprise direct attack on the Minister of Magic or Ministry; or direct assault on Harry at Hogwarts; possibly both, coordinated to occur simultaneously. People are caught unawares. Very dangerous circumstances; losses or death are possible. (Saturn T opposite Pluto N and square Mercury N)

March 7-8: Harry strikes back, his temper bursts. He may have a resurgence of headaches, bad dreams, or head injuries. (Mars T conjunct Ascendant/Moon N)

March 10-11: Although this may occur a bit earlier, there is a powerful aspect through March suggesting that Harry will be shown some of the greatest mysteries of the wizard world. He may have an opportunity to communicate with the dead, particularly his father; be told or shown what is in the locked room at the Ministry. The powers of love and death are his greatest tools as he approaches the final battle with Voldemort. (Pluto T retrograde station at 8 Sagittarius trine Harry’s Sun N)

March 13: A time of sorrows, losses and grieving. Harry and his friends have to come to terms with new limitations, guilt, and picking up the pieces after an attack. (Lunar Eclipse at 22 Virgo conjunct Harry and Ron’s Saturn N)

March 19: Hermione’s relationships and appearance are transforming. This is a period where her powers as a witch are keenly developed; she is able to make original or unusual combinations of spells, potions, or tools. She may gain benefits from her political activism or from her relationship with Rita Skeeter. (Venus T opposite Hermione’s Venus N)

March 23-26: Harry makes a journey with his teacher/mentor. This may be a time when he can establish helpful alliances in the wizard world, although his helpers and partners will be unusual or unlikely sources of aid. His kindness toward non-wizard creatures gains rewards. Ron’s knowledge and family connections in the wizard culture is helpful. (Jupiter T opposite Jupiter N; Jupiter T conjunct Ron’s Sun)

March 27: Ron is deeply worried about his mother or sister, or a love relationship falters because of misunderstandings. (Mercury T retrograde conjunct Ron’s Venus N)

March 30: More public scandals, upheaval at the Ministry. Harry is attacked by the press, or his connection with political figures is twisted by insinuations. There may be thefts or attacks as magical weapons are coveted (Mars T opposite Pluto N)

April 11-12: Hidden elements of a Death Eaters plot are discovered, literally tripped over. It may take a while to figure out what it means. The pain of loss is still fresh, and Harry’s temper is uncertain. He is becoming more and more angry. (Mercury T retrograde opposite Mars N; Full Moon at 22 Libra conjunct Pluto N)

Late April: Harry is once again making leaps in his magical progress. His skills are magnified; he breaks through to new levels of mastery. Some abilities that appear at this time may surprise him and his teachers. (Uranus T trine Mars N)

May 11: Upheavals and assaults at Hogwarts. Other students may be exposed to danger. An evil lurking inside the school is released, possibly by Draco. (Full Moon at 22 Scorpio conjunct Uranus N)

May 13: Hermione may travel, or reveal more secrets that develop the plan further. Her abilities are accelerated during May. She may gain advantages through a relationship with a professor that the other two do not share with her (Professor Vector?). Classes that she has been taking that have seemed excessive or unnecessary to Harry and Ron prove their value. The importance of Hermione’s role in the entire series becomes very apparent, as she fulfills the role that the author has set for her. Her legal and political abilities may again be of great importance. (Jupiter T opposite her Jupiter N; Uranus T retrograde station opposite her Venus N)

May 27: The seventh-year students are in a period of intensive review and study for their final exams (NEWTs). Their activities are restricted as study hours demand all of their attention. (Jupiter T opposite Harry/Ron’s Saturn N, Hermione’s Sun N)

June 3: Ron or his parents are attacked or endangered in some way. (Mars T squares Solar Eclipse point/Ron’s Moon/Sun N)

June 1998: Although the climax of the six preceding books has always occurred in June, the planetary movements in June of 1998 don’t seem to follow this pattern in a discernable manner. As Saturn moves into Taurus in early June, Harry may be given full possession of his parent’s property, pending his graduation. But overall, there are just no aspects for big attacks or battles at this time – at least, none that follow the astrological precedents of the other books.

I speculate that the plan for the final confrontation with Voldemort, the battle to the death, may be planned to take place in a location remote from Hogwarts in order to prevent accidental injuries to innocent bystanders. Harry will leave Hogwarts in late June or early July (Mars T conjunct IC), and may take up residence with his friends or his father’s friends, or members of the Order of the Phoenix. He will gain full membership in this organization at this time.

Aspects at the end of the school year are tough for Ron. He is reaching a hard corner, which is again emphasized by a Lunar Eclipse on August 8 conjunct his Midheaven, and a Solar Eclipse on August 22, 1998 conjunct his natal North Node. He may be struggling between his loyalty to Harry, and his need to enter the working world of a wizard adult. The situation around his family will be difficult, adding to his overall tension. He won’t want to leave Harry alone, but might have to go if he gets a job. Ron’s career goals have never been clearly defined, so he may also suffer from uncertainty as to what he should do.

The planetary picture that I think most likely for the final battle comes in late October – and may return to the date of the death of Harry’s parent – October 31st. Rowling may choose to end the story where it began. The planets in late October exhibit the necessary power and ferocity to indicate a great battle for Harry. All of the skills and abilities developed during his years at Hogwarts will come into play. Hermione may be a key ally in this battle, although she may be in mortal danger through risks she takes. (Saturn T inconjunct her Saturn N).

It is likely that Voldemort will be accompanied by Bellatrix (Sun conjunct Venus at 8 Scorpio, square Harry’s Sun N). Harry will be accompanied by Ron, Hermione, with additional backup from older Order members. The plan developed by Harry and his friends will be sprung, with all of Voldemort’s weaknesses used against him (Mars T conjunct Jupiter N).

Ron is seriously endangered during this confrontation (North Node T conjunct N. Node N; Mars T conjunct Moon N and opposition Sun N; Jupiter T conjunct Mercury N, and square Ascendant and Neptune N). If he is not killed outright, he will be severely wounded.

The planetary picture for Harry indicates resolution, and a righting of old wrongs. As to whether he will live or die, the planets indicate he will be transformed during the encounter. The final spell blast may have an effect no one in the wizard world can predict. This may well result in a physical transformation that permanently alters him, but the planets just don’t read like a “death chart.” His life won’t be the same after this confrontation (duh), but it is unlikely that he will die.
